REC Riders- Mountain Bike Program

Program Description: ​ REC Riders- Mountain Bike Program will serve 100 middle and high school youth through a no cost program focused on increasing physical activity, social & emotional learning, leadership development, & environmental stewardship.

 

Game Farm Park

Program Description: ​Game Farm Park, the most highly used sports complex in Auburn's park system will add lighting to field #4 to increase programming by 25%.

Program Description: ​Crossroads Multi-Sport Area will be renovated to convert 2 tennis courts to multi-sport platforms providing courts for increasing demand sports of box lacrosse, street soccer, in-line hockey, and pickleball.

Program Description: ​Special Needs Fitness Center provides small group fitness programming designed to improve coordination, strength, flexibility, balance, goal-setting, and social skills through after-school programming.

Program Description: ​Finn Hill Middle School Playfields will be renovated to improve drainage, turf maintenance, netting, and fencing.  Renovations will expand field use to local recreation teams and the community.

Program Description: ​Skyway Access to Sports (SAS) works in partnership with local schools to provide scholarships to youth to participate on a range of sports teams throughout the year.

Summer Fun in the Sun

Location: Pacific Ridge

Program Description: ​Summer Fun in the Sun provides a no cost summer camp to families in the Pacific Ridge neighborhood addressing transportation and cost barriers by activating the local Midway Park with physical activity focused programming.

 

Play for all Project

Program Description: ​Play for All Project will construct a new play area for small children at Steven J. Underwood Memorial Park in the Pacific Ridge neighborhood.

Program Description: After-School Youth Rowing Club is designed to foster health, leadership, physical activity, and community engagment to address the barriers to access the sport of rowing. The program consists of both indoor and on the water rowing, swimming, and social emotional learning.

Program Description: A multi-sport artificial turf field will be installed at Evergreen High School expanding field use to year round for longer daytime hours with a lit turf field. The field will be used by Evergree HS & Cascade MS sports teams along with the surrounding community.

Program Description: KYFS Athletics Club serves 700 youth through partnership with King County Housing Authority, Kent School District, YMCA, and City of Kent to provide after-school athletic programs to middle & high school youth.

Program Description: Cross Town Trail  will be extended to Vera Risdon Middle School expanding trail access to students and the community.  The Cross Town Trail is a 4 mile trail through town connecting with the Cougar Mountain Trail system.

Program Description: Summer Nature Adventure Program provides small group wilderness outings to hike, rock climb, and river raft at no cost to participants. The program incorporates behavioral health interventions with outdoor leadership development.

Program Description: The playground at East Ridge Elementary will be renovated to be ADA Compliant expanding access for youth with special needs.

Program Description: North West Communities of Burma Annual Soccer Tournament aims to build community across different ethnic groups immigrating from Burma/Myanmar through soccer. The preparation & practice leading up to the tournament gives social and cultural motivation to engage in physical activity.

Program Description: Parkour After-School Program addresses financial and transportation barriers to accessing physical activity by providing functional fitness programming involving running, jumping, climbing, and swinging through environments.

Program Description: "RA Fitness" will provide a variety of physical activity programs serving 300 youth including yoga, zumba, and basketball camps incorporating STEM concepts & leadership development.

Program Description: SANCA Social Circus Program serves 500 youth through partnerships with over 20 local schools and organizations to provide after school programming focused on physical activity of circus arts incorporating social emotional learning.

Program Description: Skyway Recreation Program will provide fitness and wellness programs at no cost to residents of Skyway.

Program Description: East African Sports Activity incorporates mentoring and academic support with premier soccer training teams.

Program Description: SOS Outreach Outdoors serves 150 youth through partnerships with schools and youth serving agencies incorporating mentoring, community engagement through service, leadership development, and outdoor adventure sports such as skiing, snowboardking, rock climbing, and hiking.

Program Description: Salvation Army White Center Gym will be renovated to install wall padding, a scoreboard, and new basketball hoops.

 

Youth Basketball

Program Description: White Center Youth Basketball will serve 120 youth through scholarships and a sliding scale payment option to address cost barriers to participate in the basketball league.

 

Youth Futsal

Program Description: White Center Youth Futsal will serve 140 youth through scholarships and a sliding scale payment option to play indoor soccer program incorporating social emotional learning.

Program Description: Core Winter Program combines snowboarding lessons, intersectional social justice education, volunteer projects, and mentorship to 36 high school youth.

Program Description: Up2Us Sports provides intensive coach training on healthy youth development and mentoring strategies. In partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, trained coaches will be placed at high need community centers and coach a range of athletic programs including flag football, cross country, volleyball, basketball, tennis, track and field.

Program Description: Upower: Functional Fitness provides trauma informed fitness programming as part of targeted interventions in partnership with Interagency Academy in Seattle, Choice & Big Picture Academies in Des Moines and Burien, and King County Juvenile Detention.

Program Description: South Seattle Youth Initiative provides a variety of after-school and summer physical activity programming including yoga, swimming, and martial arts serving youth living in Skyway.

Program Description: VES Fields Lighting Project will install field lights to expand field options on Vashon Island.

Program Description: Outdoor Leadership Program increase youth engagement in outdoor expeditions by empowering teachers and youth program providers with the skills and resources to lead safe and fun outdoor experiences. Along with training, groups gain access to WTA's gear library and are able to apply for mini grants to support transportation costs.

Auburn Mini-Pitches

Program Description: Auburn Mini-Pitches will transform two basketball courts at Gildo Rey & Alpac Elementary Schools into a mini-soccer space. 

 

Soccer for Success

Population Served: Youth from low-income families in communities of color

Award Amount: $114,659

Location: South King County

Program Description: King County Soccer for Success builds positive identity through mentoring and soccer.  Soccer for Success partners with 13 schools to provide a no cost after-school program serving 45-60 youth at each school supplying jerseys, socks, shin guards, and a ball to each player.

Program Description: Wolverine Boosters Summer Experience provides targeted college workshops to student athletes, sports specific camps on campus, training for culturally responsive coaching, and a mentor development program.

Program Description: Evergreen Pool will be renovated to address maintenance concerns with the pool pump and motor to improve air & water quality in the pool area.

Aquatic Center

Population Served: Youth and adults

Program Description: University YMCA Aquatic Center is a new construction of a 66,000 square foot facility replacing the existing 16,000 square foot structure. It will include lap swimming, aquatic exercise classes along with open and family swim.

Location: Snoqualmie/East King County

Program Description: Snoqualmie PLAYeveryday partners with Snoqualmie School District to support the Coordinated Approach to Child Health curriculum focused on teaching playground skills, modeling sportsmanship, and engaging kids in play during recess.
