The surplus program helps employees find new homes for surplus furniture and office equipment to use within their King County workplace.
Come to the warehouse during viewing hours (7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., closed from noon - 1 p.m.), see something you can use in your workplace, sign it out, and take it with you—no charge!
The warehouse is housed at 707 S. Orcas St., on the corner of S. Orcas St. and 7th Ave S., in Georgetown.
If we don’t have what you’re looking for, you can submit a request using our Request Form. We’ll add your request to our “wish list” database, and if the item comes in within 60 days we’ll contact you to schedule an inspection. If the item has not come in within 60 days, you can extend your request and preserve your position on the wish list by submitting a new form before the first request expires. Requests that expire are dropped from the wish list with the assumption that you have found an alternate solution to your needs (i.e., purchased the item).
The surplus program relies solely on King County agencies for surplus items and exists to save the county from buying new equipment and office furniture. We do not have the resources to repair broken or dismantled items. If an item is broken, not working, or it is missing parts, please recycle it if possible or dispose of it properly.
We do not accept the following items:
- Computer software and software manuals
- Hazardous waste
- Monochrome or broken computer monitors
- Non-OSHA approved office/desk chairs
- Panels and partitions
- Refrigerators and refrigeration equipment
