via PlaneNoise Track flights
The King County International Airport-Boeing Field Noise Management Program is a comprehensive program that provides actual measurement of aircraft noise levels in our surrounding neighborhoods. The goal is to provide reliable and consistent data to measure the success of noise reduction strategies. We collect data from six monitors in nearby neighborhoods to assist in this effort.
We are now using a new system, called PlaneNoise, to collect, manage, and track noise reports and comments from the public. This information will assist our Noise Management team in investigating community concerns.
With this new system, there is also a new Noise Hotline number: 206-316-2515.
In addition to the PlaneNoise system, the Noise Management Program now includes a tool, PublicVue powered by L3 Harris, that allows community members to track flights using the same technology used by our team. PublicVue also allows residents to enter comments on any aircraft being tracked.
We welcome your feedback on these new systems. Please contact us at AirportOps@kingcounty.gov.

FAA seeks public comment on research to address aircraft noise
The FAA is releasing a summary of the research programs it sponsors on civil aircraft noise that could potentially inform future aircraft noise policy. Neighborhoods around King County International Airport were included in this survey. See the FAA Neighborhood Environmental Survey overview and methodology. The FAA invites public comment on the scope and applicability of these research initiatives to address aircraft noise.
The FAA has published the results of the Neighborhood Environmental Survey in the Federal Register, where you can find information on how to comment.
