NAME: Brian Husmillo

MILITARY SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS: Stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif. Deployed with 1st Battalion, 4th Marines (1/4) to Najaf, Iraq in 2004 and participated in Operation Phantom Fury in November 2004 in Fallujah, Iraq. Deployed again with 1/4 on a Marine Expeditionary Unit in early 2006 to Kuwait, Australia, Thailand, Dubai, and Singapore before separating from the Marine Corps.

BRANCH: Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army Reserve

CURRENT CITY: West Seattle

MILITARY SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS: Entered Army ROTC at the University of Washington in 1980. Served 30 years in the Army Reserve, retired in 2010. Served four tours of duty in South Korea and two tours in Iraq.

MILITARY SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS: Served at the Naval Dental Clinic, Naval Air Station Moffett Field, Calif.; the Naval Dental Center in San Diego; and with the 1st Dental Battalion, 1st Force Service Support Group, Camp Pendleton, Calif. Maxwell is applying for the dental hygiene program at Seattle Central Community College for the fall of 2014.

MILITARY SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS: Served with the 4th Landing Support Batallion at Joint Base Lewis-McChord; Combat Logistics Regiment 17 at Camp Pendleton, Calif.; and one deployment with Combat Logistics Regiment 15 to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan.

MILITARY SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS: Served at Kunsan Air Base, South Korea; McGregor Range, N.M.; Fort Bliss, Texas; and Fort Sill, Okla.

KING COUNTY AGENCY: Department of Executive Services, Human Resources Division

MILITARY SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS: Served with the 1st Armored Division ("Old Ironsides") in Germany, Poland, Romania, and Iraq and with the 101st Airborne Division ("Screaming Eagles") at Fort Campbell, Ky. Deployed with 1st AD to southern Baghdad Province in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from August 2008 to June 2009. Operated as a Motorized Rifle Platoon Leader.

 

NAME: Garnett Tanner

BRANCH: Sergeant, U.S. Army

HOMETOWN: Philadelphia

KING COUNTY AGENCY: Department of Natural Resources and Parks, Solid Waste Division

MILITARY SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS: Retired from the Army after 20 years of service in combat support operations as a Human Resource Specialist. Deployed four times: Bosnia on a humanitarian mission from March 2001 to September 2001 while assigned to 25th Infantry Division (ID); Afghanistan from April 2004 to July 2005 and again from January 2007 to January 2008 with the 25th ID; Iraq from July 2009 to June 2010 with the 571st Military Police Company.

 

NAME: Wendy Tureaud

BRANCH: Master Sergeant, U.S. Army

CURRENT CITY: Belltown, Seattle

HOMETOWN: New Orleans

KING COUNTY AGENCY: Department of Assessments

MILITARY SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS: Served two tours at Camp Casey, South Korea; Fort Benning, Ga.; Saudi Arabia; Omaha, Neb.; Fort Polk, La.; Washington, D.C.; Joint Base Lewis-McChord; and Iraq.
