Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday closures and service impacts

King County government offices will be closed to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is on the third Monday of January.

In 2025, Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be on Monday, January 20.

Transit

• Buses and transit will run on a regular weekday schedule. 
• Water Taxis will not sail.
• Metro offices will be closed. This includes customer service, lost and found, and pass sales.

Courts

District Court, Superior Court, and the Superior Court Clerk’s office will be closed.

Other services

• Solid waste facilities and transfer stations will be open.
• Contact your garbage collection service provider for information on collections.
