Elections
King County Elections (KCE) mailed ballots to registered voters in the City of Seattle and Enumclaw School District for the February 14, 2023 Special election. KCE projects a 33% turnout for this election.
King County Elections (KCE) mailed ballots to participating registered voters in the City of Seattle and Enumclaw School District No. 216 for the February 14, 2023 Special election. Just over 500,000 voters will receive ballots for this election, with Seattle being home to approximately 478,000. KCE projects a 33% turnout for this election, expecting to receive approximately 165,000 ballots back from voters.
Ballots should arrive to voters’ mailboxes by Monday, January 30. If a voter believes they should have received a ballot but did not, they should call King County Elections at 206-296-VOTE (8683).
Voters in Seattle are voting on Initiative No. 135, while voters in Enumclaw School District will weigh in on Proposition 1, a bond measure. Explanatory statements, complete text of the measures, and requirements for passage can be found on our website.
Voters will receive an insert in their ballot packet that includes the statements for and against each measure, as well as instructions on how to return their ballot or receive assistance. Voters can also check our online ballot tracker and sign up for ballot alerts to get text or email notification of their ballot’s progress through the process.
The deadline to register to vote online or by mail for this election is Monday, February 8. Voters may register or update their registration in person until 8 p.m. on Election Day. KCE will provide in person service, including providing replacement ballots and assistive voting devices for those with disabilities, at KCE Headquarters in Renton.
Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day, February 14. Or voters may place them in a secure ballot drop box until 8 p.m. sharp on Election Day. 34 ballot drop boxes are open for this election, including all within 3-miles of a participating jurisdiction.
Many voters in King County may also participate in the annual King Conservation District (KCD) Board of Supervisors election. Voting in the KCD election began yesterday, January 24, and will continue until Election Day, February 14. Voters must return separate ballots for each election.
