How do you keep employees motivated and enthusiastic?
Here are some suggestions to keep employees motivated and enthusiastic about recycling:
- Publicize your program to employees through the company newsletter.
- Regularly post recycling levels for employees to view.
- Include recycling on staff meeting agendas.
- Make sure all recycling bins are properly labeled.
There are also a number of business recognition programs that sponsor local, regional or national awards to acknowledge companies for their work in conservation, waste reduction and recycling.

A regional program that certifies businesses for their efforts to prevent pollution and reduce hazardous waste. In King County, EnviroStars is a service of the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program in partnership with the Puget Soundkeeper Alliance.

Greenhouse emissions
Climate wise
Assists businesses in tracking and reducing greenhouse emissions by making improvements in energy and resource efficiency and offers publicity for voluntary actions. Program is administered by Seattle City Light in cooperation with Seattle Public Utilities, the Seattle Business and Industry Resource Venture and other service providers.
