Be an advisor

Metro provides opportunities for members of the public to advise us on topics like long-range planning, transit promotion, and ongoing system improvements. These opportunities include membership on the King County Transit Advisory Commission, participation in community sounding boards that work on specific system improvement projects, and participation in focus groups that help us refine our marketing efforts. Watch this page for recruitment notices and updates about the work of these advisory groups.

Transit Advisory Commission seeks members

The King County Transit Advisory Commission helps improve transit services, planning, and programs by advising Metro, the King County Executive and Metropolitan King County Council, local jurisdictions, and subarea transportation boards on matters related to transit policy.

Members include residents, businesses, and other stakeholders concerned about transit service in King County. Most are bus riders. All live in King County. Collectively, they reflect the county’s diversity. Members are appointed by the Executive for two-year terms, and approved by the Council.

There are currently openings on the commission. In particular, we’re looking for applicants who work or live in the third, sixth, or ninth King County council districts (see council district map). Youths, persons of color, and those with disabilities or limited English proficiency are encouraged to apply.

The commission meets monthly or as needed to complete its work plan and address other issues as they arise. Learn more…
