Missing Redmond man found alive and well

78 yr old James Abernathy left his English Hill home on Friday afternoon and didn't return. King County Search and Rescue workers located him early Saturday morning in Redmond, safe and sound.

Update: James Abernathy, a 78 year old Redmond man, was located early Saturday morning by KC Search and Rescue after being missing for over fourteen hours.  He was found to be alive and well.

Original story: King County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue workers need help locating an elderly man that walked away from his home near the English Hill neighborhood outside of Redmond tonight.

James Abernathy, 78, suffers from memory issues and requires medication.  He is 6’2, 156lbs, hazel eyes, grey hair.  He was last seen at home Friday around 2:30pm wearing a navy blue baseball cap, black North Face jacket, grey sweatpants, and black tennis shoes.

James is likely on foot or riding public transit.  Given the cold and rainy conditions, James may be seeking shelter in a business or public place.  KCSO Search and Rescue workers are currently looking for him in the English Hill area.

If locates James Abernathy or remembers seeing him, please immediately call 911 or the KCSO Communications Center at 206-296-3311.
