State v. James Krogh
Guilty Plea in U-District Vehicular Homicide: A 23-year-old Seattle man pled guilty today to Vehicular Homicide and Reckless Endangerment for a collision that killed a motorcyclist in the University District in Seattle on December 31, 2016. The defendant, James Krogh, was driving under the influence of alcohol when he rear-ended a car on Roosevelt Way NE. No one was hurt but the defendant sped around the vehicle and then rear-ended a motorcyclist who was stopped at a red light three blocks away. The victim, Athen Nguyen, 22, was killed in the collision. The defendant faces a sentence range of 78 to 102 months in prison. Sentencing set for November 9 at 1:45 p.m. before Judge Barbara Linde at the King County Courthouse. The case is being handled by Senior Deputy Prosecutor Amy Freedheim.
