Vehicular Homicide Charges Filed in Redmond Collision: A 21-year-old Lynnwood man was charged today with Vehicular Homicide, Felony Hit and Run, and Reckless Driving for a collision in Redmond early Saturday morning that killed a 30-year-old man. The defendant, Robert James Malsch, is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and driving at a high rate of speed when the car he was driving slammed into a car that was stopped at a red light. The defendant exited his car after the collision and allegedly fled from the scene but was apprehended a short time later. Prior to the collision, witnesses reported seeing the defendant’s car traveling east on SR 520 at excessive speeds. The defendant remains in jail with bail set at $100,000. Arraignment is scheduled for March 18 at 8:30 a.m. at the King County Courthouse.
