Defendant Charged in Slayings of Two at Auburn Park: A 39-year-old man has been charged with two counts of Murder in the Second Degree with firearm enhancements for the alleged fatal shootings of a 29-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man at Les Gove Park in Auburn on Sunday night. The defendant, Charles C. Petrich, is also charged with one count of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in the First Degree. If convicted as charged, the defendant’s sentence range is 33 to 49 ½ years in prison. The defendant’s bail has been increased to $4 million from the $2 million set at first appearance. Arraignment is scheduled for July 23 at 9 a.m. in courtroom GA of the Maleng Regional Justice Center.
