King County is holding field office days as we develop the proposed Skyway-West Hill Subarea Plan. All Skyway-West Hill residents, business owners, and parties interested in the plan are welcome to drop by or schedule an appointment to learn more about the plan and share your ideas. Note: If you would like more than 15 minutes or have more than two people in a party, please contact Kevin LeClair to schedule a special appointment.

The West Hill Community Plan was adopted by King County in 1993 and incorporated as part of the 1994 King County Comprehensive Plan.
The county adopted Motion 14221, which called for a comprehensive update to the West Hill Community Plan. Around this same time, the county was providing technical assistance to a community-led effort to update elements of the community plan. This community-led effort resulted in the development of the Skyway-West Hill Action Plan (SWAP)  PDF, which was proposed as an addendum to the 1994 West Hill Community Plan during the King County Comprehensive Plan update in 2016. While the addendum was not adopted, the King County Council did direct the (then) Department of Permitting and Environmental Review to work with the Skyway-West Hill community to review the proposed Skyway-West Hill Action Plan and to update the 1994 West Hill Community Plan within the context of the new, reinitiated Subarea Planning Program.
A King County Council motion authorizing the restructured Subarea Planning Program was approved on May 7. This included the Skyway-West Hill Community Service Area Subarea Plan schedule (see Motion 15142). The plan will be developed between July 2018 and June 2019 and transmitted to the King County Council by June 30, 2019. The council will review the recommended plan and hold a new set of public comment opportunities between July 2019 and June 2020.
