The King County Board of Health is holding a meeting on February 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. The agenda includes discussion and possible action on a resolution about management of COVID 19 prevention and outbreaks in Washington State Department of Corrections facilities, an update on COVID-19 and vaccine updates and adopting the 2021 workplan for the Board.
King County launches COVID-19 vaccination sites in Kent and Auburn to provide access for vulnerable older adults
King County is opening two new community vaccination sites on February 1 in Kent and Auburn to expand vaccine access to the most vulnerable older adults in south King County. Establishing these sites now will help prepare for high-volume community access once more vaccine becomes available.

As cases surge, first free high-volume COVID-19 test site comes to King County’s Eastside
A new free COVID-19 test site will open at Bellevue College on Tuesday, December 15. This site will expand COVID-19 testing on the Eastside and complement existing free test sites already in operation in Renton, Auburn, Tukwila, Federal Way, Des Moines, and Enumclaw.
New free COVID-19 test site in Enumclaw expands testing in southeast King County
A new free COVID-19 test site will open in Enumclaw on Thursday, December 10. This new site will be open three days a week and is located across the street from the Enumclaw Municipal Building.
It’s not too late to get a flu shot! Free or low-cost flu and other childhood immunization and insurance enrollment events in December and January
Numerous free or low-cost clinics throughout King County in December and January will connect children and adults with necessary flu and other recommended vaccinations as well as assistance enrolling in health insurance.

A new free COVID-19 test site will open at Highline College on Friday, November 20. This new site complements free test sites already in operation in Renton, Auburn, Tukwila and Federal Way, increasing access to testing across south King County as cases skyrocket.

Public Health – Seattle & King County is investigating a new confirmed measles case in a child, with possible exposures in Sea-Tac Airport.
Vashon Island beaches closed for shellfish harvesting: Paralytic shellfish poison found at unsafe levels
Paralytic shellfish poison has been detected at unsafe levels on Vashon-Maury Island's Quartermaster Harbor beaches. As a result, the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) has closed these areas to recreational shellfish harvest. The commercial harvest is not affected. People should always check the DOH shellfish safety website before harvesting shellfish.
