About this indicator

The indicator compares the countywide home ownership rate to that of the state and nation, and provides a detailed comparison within King County among different income and racial categories. The home ownership rate is the percentage of home-owning households among all households in a given demographic group.

Key findings

  • Home ownership rate in King County: 60% (2009)
  • Home ownership rate in King County for households earning between $100K and $150K a year: 80% (2009)
  • Home ownership rate in King County for Black or African American households: 31% (2009)
