National Night Out
August 6, 2019
Join your neighbors on August 6 for National Night Out!
This annual event, held the first Tuesday in August, promotes community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, better places to live. It also provides a great opportunity to bring law enforcement, first responders, and other government agencies together with the people they serve under positive circumstances.
To celebrate NNO, many neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits, and much more.
National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW). Check natw.org/about to find the NNO event in your area.
King County Emergency Management encourages you and your family to participate in National Night Out, and to use the event to help get your neighborhood better prepared for emergencies. Neighborhoods that are prepared help our whole region to be more resilient in a disaster.
