Please call ahead so that we can accommodate your visit and arrange for media badges to be prepared. Remember that blue and black pens are not allowed in many areas of the building. Red pens are fine – they can’t be viewed by our ballot scanning machines and ensure the ballot processing area remains secure.

Candidate filing week approaches - May 11-May 15
Candidates looking to run for office this year will have the opportunity to put their name on the ballot during the upcoming filing week of May 11 through May 15, 2020. For the first time ever, all candidates across the state will use the Secretary of State’s new VoteWA candidate filing portal.


Watch your mailbox for Presidential Primary ballot
King County Elections mailed ballots today, February 19, to over 1.35 million registered voters for the March 10 Presidential Primary. Any voter who has not received their ballot by Monday, February 24 should call King County Elections at 206-296-VOTE (8683).


Online and mail voter registration deadline -- Monday, February 3 for the February Election
Those who wish to vote in the February 11 special election have until Monday, February 3 to register online or have their mailed registration form received by King County Elections.


February Special Election Logic And Accuracy Test Tomorrow
King County Elections will perform the county's official logic and accuracy testing on ballot counting and processing equipment at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28 at the King County Elections office, 919 SW Grady Way in Renton.


King County Elections Director Julie Wise to be sworn in for second term on Tuesday, January 7
Following a resounding re-election in November, Julie Wise will be sworn in for her second term as King County Director of Elections by Supreme Court Justice Mary Yu. Other speakers include King County Executive Dow Constantine and the founder and Executive Director of Mujer Al Volante, Jaqueline Garcia.
