Upon completing the recount, state Senate candidate Mark Mullet has 58 more votes than candidate Ingrid Anderson. Prior to the recount, there was a 57-ballot difference.

King County Election Certifies the 2020 General Election Results, Confirms Record-Breaking Turnout at Over 86%
King County Elections (KCE) certified the county’s 2020 general election results, marking the official end of vote counting. Out of 1.4 million registered voters in King County, 86.67% turned out this election, breaking the last record of 85% in 2012.

King County Elections is opening six Vote Center locations this Saturday, October 31, in addition to the Vote Center location at Elections Headquarters in Renton. Voters who need to register, update their address, get a replacement ballot, or receive other assistance can come to any of these locations in person to receive assistance.

Deadline to Register Online or By Mail This Monday, October 26
King County Elections is reminding voters the deadline to register to vote online or by mail by is this coming Monday, October 26. In-person registration at one of King County Elections’ Vote Centers will still be available up until Election Day, November 3, at 8p.m. sharp.

King County Elections Mails Nearly 1.4 Million Ballots for the General Election
King County Elections (KCE) mailed out nearly 1.4 million ballots to registered voters across King County today for this year’s General Election. King County is projecting 90% for this election, or approximately 1,287,000 ballots returned. This would be record-breaking turnout with the previous high of 85% in 2012.

King County Elections installed two new ballot drop boxes at the King County Library System’s (KCLS) Carnation and Black Diamond Libraries. These additions bring King County’s ballot drop box total to 72, serving nearly 1.4 million registered voters.

King County Elections is challenging voters to hit 90% turnout in the November General election. King County voters have consistently outperformed turnout expectations over the last year, including surpassing expectations by 13% in the August Primary. 90% turnout would be record-breaking, with a previous high of 85% in the 2012 General election.

On Tuesday, August 18, King County Elections certified the final results for the 2020 Primary election and is already hard at work planning for high voter turnout in the November General. Turnout in King County surpassed projections and surged on Election Day, reaching 56%.

King County Elections mailed ballots and voters’ pamphlets today, July 15, to over 1.34 million registered voters for the August 4 Primary Election. Any voter who has not received their ballot by Monday, July 20 should call King County Elections at 206-296-VOTE (8683).

Candidates looking to run for office this year will have the opportunity to put their name on the ballot during the upcoming filing week of May 11 through May 15, 2020. For the first time ever, all candidates across the state will use the Secretary of State’s new VoteWA candidate filing portal.
