King County Elections mailed ballots and local voters' pamphlet today, July 18, to nearly 1.3 million registered voters for the August 7 Primary Election. “For the first time voters will not have to use a stamp to return their ballot,” said Julie Wise, Director of King County Elections. “With prepaid postage and over 60 ballot drop boxes, voting has never been easier. Vote and make your voice heard.”

The Voter Education Fund is a government, philanthropic and community partnership led by King County Elections and Seattle Foundation to remove barriers to voting in underserved and underrepresented communities. Through this partnership, 33 organizations are receiving grants totaling more than $460,000 to increase voter engagement in underserved communities.

King County Elections is requesting funds from the County Council to provide all voters with mail-in ballots that have prepaid postage starting this year.

The Voter Education Fund is a government, philanthropic and community partnership to remove barriers to voting in diverse communities. This year the Voter Education Fund will place a special emphasis on engaging voters experiencing homelessness and reinstated voters who have been convicted of a felony.
