Mark Isaacson, Director of Wastewater Treatment Division

Mark Isaacson has been the Director of the Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) in the Department of Natural Resources and Parks since October 2016.

Mark manages WTD’s 675+ employees as well as an operating budget of $148. 5 million and a capital budget of $192.6 million. He regularly goes out into the field and talks to employees face-to-face.

Previously, the director of the Water and Lands Resources Division (WLRD) for 11 years, Mark has years of experience leading a large number of environmental programs with large capital and operating budgets, and established a very stable organization with multiple revenue streams.

Prior to leading WLRD, Mark was the WLRD assistant division director – and prior to that worked in WTD for three years leading the implementation of the Productivity Initiative.

Mark has a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
