Building on community input and dialogue gathered during two earlier public meetings, King County Parks and the Vashon Mountain Bike Association (VMBA) are ready to present their final recommendations for new trails in Dockton Forest.
An open house is set for 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28, in the multipurpose room of McMurray Middle School on Vashon Island.
King County Parks and VMBA will present their final recommendations on building new mountain bike trails within Dockton Forest.
At the open house, community members can ask detailed questions of King County and VMBA representatives; sign up to volunteer for trail building parties; offer ideas for naming the existing trails; and see sample trail etiquette signs proposed for informational kiosks at the forest.
As part of the recommendations, all existing trails would remain open to all trail users, including hikers, runners, mountain bikers and equestrians.
