King County is planning to repurpose vacant and underused space in the West Wing of the King County Correctional Facility in downtown Seattle to quickly move 100 people from outdoors. The space was formerly used to house inmate workers and work release clients until 2012, and was used in more recent years for offices, training space, and storage.  A study to be conducted in 2019 will explore options and opportunities for long-term use of the vacant space.

Location: Corner of 5th and Jefferson, Seattle
Program: 24/7 enhanced shelter with onsite case management, housing navigation, connections to community services, health and behavioral health services, meals (brought in), meeting spaces, storage for personal belongings, laundry facilities and showers.
Hours of operation: Case management staff onsite 24/7
# of beds/units: 40 to start; expanding up to 100 adults after additional renovation
