Providing equitable opportunities for youth and adults to prepare for and obtain great jobs.
We have a variety of programs and services available for different individual situations, including job skills training, vocational education, GED attainment and job placement.
Education and Employment Resources also has a critical role in developing economic and workforce opportunities in our local region. We play a leadership role in the Seattle-King County WorkSource System and are a significant partner in King County's Communities of Opportunity Initiative.
Grant application announcement
The Department of Community and Human Services has been awarded for the Environmental Protection Agency FY 2018 Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training (EWDJT) Grant through its King County Jobs Initiative Program (KCJI). KCJI intends to outreach to the community in and adjacent to the Duwamish River who are unemployed and provide necessary training in Hazardous Materials cleanup and place in livable wage jobs.
As a result of the award, a Request for Proposal is now open for Hazardous Material Clean up Trainer.
