Scheduling Civil Motions

Please review these general instructions for Scheduling Civil Motions. (See also 'Dispositive Motions and Hearing Requests' below.)

Dispositive Motions and Hearing Requests

Dispositive motions usually are heard on Fridays. To request a hearing date, please email or telephone the bailiff. You must file and serve a Note for Hearing for your dispositive motion within two court days of receiving a hearing date and time. Failure to do so will result in the hearing’s cancellation. Parties must promptly notify the court if the court no longer needs to hear the noted motion.

Providing Copies of Non-Washington Authorities to Judge Not Necessary

LCR 7(b)(5)(B)(v) requires that “[c]opies of all cited non-Washington authorities upon which parties place substantial reliance shall be provided to the hearing Judge . . ..” Judge Chun does not require parties to comply with this requirement.
