Judge D. Mark Eide
Judge Eide is the presiding judge for King County District Court’s South Division. He hears criminal cases at the Maleng Regional Justice Center (MRJC) in Kent.
A graduate of the University of Washington with double degrees in history and political science, Judge Eide earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the Willamette University College of Law in 1982.
Prior to his election to the King County District Court bench, Judge Eide served as a pro tem judge in Federal Way District Court from 1996-2002. His practice of law includes serving as a cooperating attorney for ACLU-Washington from 1983-2002 and working as an attorney in private practice in Federal Way from 1982-2002.
Judge Eide has been deeply involved in community service, including serving on the Federal Way Chamber of Commerce Legislative Affairs Committee; as a City of Federal Way Parks Commission member and chair; and as a City of Federal Way Recycling Commission member.
Prior to his legal career, he worked as a roofer, truck driver and framer, and twice backpacked through Europe for 3 months and 6 months. Judge Eide enjoys traveling, fishing and sailing.
