King County Council Unanimously Confirms Three South King County Residents to King County Boards

Summary

The King County Council on Tuesday unanimously approved the appointments of three District 7 residents to King County Boards.

Story

Today, the King County Council unanimously approved the appointments of three District 7 residents to King County Boards. Jeanne Burbidge was reappointed to the 4Culture Board, with Angela Griffin and Robyn Mulenga both appointed to the Children and Youth Advisory Board.

“In a time of uncertainty, I am pleased to have three exceptionally capable individuals step forward and volunteer to serve on these important boards,” said Pete von Reichbauer, who represents District 7 on the King County Council. “Jeanne, Angela and Robyn all have a long history of public service in their communities and bring a wealth of experience and diversity that greatly benefit King County.”

Jeanne Burbidge, a former mayor and longtime resident of Federal Way, was first appointed to the 4Culture Board in 2018 and has been reappointed for a three-year term expiring on December 31, 2023. 4Culture administers King County’s arts and heritage programs with the funds it receives from a portion of the hotel/motel tax revenue.

Angela Griffin, a former Federal Way School Board member, was appointed to the Children and Youth Advisory Board for a three-year term expiring on January 31, 2023. In addition to serving on the Board, Angela works as the Chief Program Office for Treehouse, a nonprofit that works to ensure youth in foster care have successful life outcomes.

Robyn Mulenga, who resides in the city of Auburn and serves on the city council, was also appointed to the Children and Youth Advisory Board by the King County Executive for a three-year term expiring on January 31, 2023. She currently works as a program analyst for the FAA and is a former member of the Auburn School Board.

The Children and Youth Advisory Board is comprised of King County residents and stakeholders with geographically and culturally diverse perspectives. They provide recommendations and monitor the distribution of proceeds from the Best Starts for Kids levy passed by King County voters.
