The Metropolitan King County Council confirmed the appointment of Charles Murrell of Auburn to the King County Veterans Citizens Oversight Board (VCOB).

“Chuck Murrell brings strong civic qualifications to the VCOB,” said von Reichbauer.  “He has shown a longtime passion and dedication to improving the lives of other veterans.  Chuck’s background and expertise will be a valuable asset to the Board.”

Murrell currently serves as a member of the King County Veterans Advisory Program Board, representing the American Legion.  He is also a member of the VVA Chapter 102, the VFW Post 2224, the 25th Infantry Association, and the 196th Light Infantry Brigade Association.  Currently Murrell volunteers every Friday at the Beacon Hill Veterans Administration Hospital, and has accumulated over 2,000 hours in volunteer work there.  Chuck Murrell resides in the city of Auburn, represented by King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer.

The King County VCOB monitors and reviews the expenditure of the veteran portion of levy proceeds in accordance with an adopted VSHSL Transition Plan, which guides the activities of the King County Veterans, Seniors and Human Services Levy. This 12-member citizen oversight board is comprised of residents of King County.
