South King County leaders sit down with Sound Transit Chairman Aaron Reardon

Summary

Story

King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer hosted a breakfast meeting for south King County business and civic leaders with Snohomish County Executive and Sound Transit Board Chairman, Aaron Reardon as the guest speaker.

“Sound Transit is intrinsically tied to our cities,” said Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer. “As Chairman of the Sound Transit Board, Executive Reardon has been able to successfully connect with people, through ongoing dialog and conversation, to prevent any unnecessary challenges for our transit system and as a result has achieved success.”

The roundtable discussion gave the leaders in attendance first hand information about the accomplishments and challenges Sound Transit has overcome and will continue to face in the upcoming year. Executive Reardon led the discussion as he focused on how the Sound Transit staff will continue to make improvements to the Sound Transit system while continuing to deal with budget cuts in the Puget Sound Region.

Aaron Reardon is serving his second term as Snohomish County Executive. First elected to the position in 2003, Reardon was sworn in as the youngest County Executive in America. His top priority is protecting and creating jobs for our region as well as making the region more competitive. He is the senior County Executive of the Puget Sound region and serves as Chair of the Sound Transit Board since 2010.
