The Budget and Fiscal Management Committee considers and makes recommendations on the county revenue and expenditure fiscal structural gap, capital and operating budget appropriations. It also considers the sale and lease of real property to or by the county, debt and investment proposals, bond issues, matters pertaining to the Office of Economic and Financial Analysis, levies, unless referred to another committee, and financial policies. The committee develops recommendations on policy direction for the biennial budget, based on the recommendations of other council committees, and takes into account the estimated fiscal impacts of state and federal legislation.

PUBLIC NOTICE: The Budget and Fiscal Management Committee meetings will be held virtually until further notice. To help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Chambers will be closed and all committee members and staff will be participating in the meeting remotely.

HOW TO PROVIDE PUBLIC COMMENT: The Budget and Fiscal Management Committee values community input and looks forward to hearing from you on agenda items.

The Committee will accept public comment on agenda items in writing. You may do so by submitting your written comments to If your comments are submitted before 8:00 a.m. on the day of the meeting, your comments will be distributed to the committee members and appropriate staff prior to the meeting.

Week 2 of the Council's budget review process is dedicated to roundtable meetings in order to conduct in-depth briefings of appropriation units aligned to a specific policy area. Roundtable meetings will take place from 9:30 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. each day.
