Ready to quit smoking? Trying again? Want to help someone quit? You’re in the right place.

Quitting tobacco isn’t easy. Most people try several times before they are able to quit for good. If you are ready to quit, you don’t have to do it alone. There are many resources available to help you quit smoking or kick tobacco for good.

Support from a trained Quit Coach can greatly improve your chances of quitting successfully.

Quit for Life is a free online and telephone counseling program available to Kaiser Permanente members. Visit quitnow.net/kpwa or call Log in to your Kaiser Permanente online account and register or call Quit for Life at 866-426-5327 to enroll.

Smokefree.gov offers a variety of free programs to help you build your quit plan and stay quit from tobacco. Smokefree.gov has counselors via chat, text, smartphone apps and social media sites. There are programs tailored to women, teens, people over 60, Spanish speakers and more. 

 

If you are struggling to quit tobacco, talk to your doctor or pharmacist about medications that help smokers quit.

Tobacco cessation medicines, including prescriptions and nicotine replacement products like nicotine patches and gum, are available through you health plan. Regence covers medications when prescribed by your physician. Kaiser covers medications at no cost to members who participate in the Quit for Life program. Kaiser members who are quitting smoking and opt-out of the Quit for Life program have coverage of medications based on their pharmacy benefit.

myStrength is a free, confidential digital app to support mental and emotional wellness. myStrength uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help a person end addiction to nicotine. Sign up instructions are located on the Balanced You blog.
