Volunteer opportunities

Here are some volunteer opportunities that support public transportation in King County.

  • Accessessible Services Advisory Committee
    Provides suggestions and recommendations to the King County Department of Transportation on transportation services for elderly people and people with disabilities.
  • Adopt-A-Road
    This volunteer Road Services program is a litter-reduction campaign designed to remove litter and debris from King County roads and improve the quality of the environment.
  • Adopt-A-Stop
    This volunteer program supports your desire to maintain your neighborhood’s appearance by reducing litter at and around unsheltered King County Metro bus stops.
  • Airport Community Outreach Program
    King County International Airport/Boeing Field reaches out to the community in several ways: an advisory board called The Roundtable, unique aviation education programs developed in partnership with local school districts, and narrated airport tours for adults and children.
  • Airport Noise Information Line
    Residents are invited to call the Noise Office of King County International Airport/Boeing Field to help improve compliance with the airport’s Fly Quiet noise reduction goals.
  • Bus Shelter Mural Program
    A unique King County Metro Transit program to involve youths and other members of the community in designing and painting passenger shelter murals.
  • Transit Advisory Committee
    Represents residents, businesses, and other stakeholders concerned about transit service in King County.
