Early departure added for winter schedule of West Seattle route

Aug 31 - The King County Water Taxi’s West Seattle route will add a 6:15 am departure from Seacrest dock to its winter schedule, starting October 29. See the news release for more information.

Passenger capacity increases announced for water taxi vessels

Aug 22 - The King County Ferry District announced today that both the Rachel Marie on the West Seattle Route and the Melissa Ann on the Vashon Island Rout have received US Coast Guard approval to raise their passenger capacities to 172 passengers each, effective immediately. Please see the news release for more information.

Sign up for service alerts

The Water Taxi uses an e-mail alert system to notify passengers when sailings will be canceled or delayed by more than 15 minutes.

To subscribe:

  1. Go to the Sign up for alerts page on Metro Transit's website
  2. Enter your e-mail address and click Sign Up
  3. Scroll down to Marine & Other Routes
  4. Check King County-operated Vashon Water Taxi (975) or West Seattle Water Taxi (973)
  5. Add Metro routes if you wish
  6. Click Save
