King County Road Services - Frequently-asked questions
Adopt-A-Road
How do I adopt a road?
Roads that are within unincorporated King County (not inside a city jurisdiction) and roads within the cities of Kenmore, Covington, Sammamish and Newcastle are available for adoption. Prospective volunteers should download the necessary forms from the Road Services Division's Adopt-A-Road Web site.
What is the Adopt-A-Road Program?
Adopt-a-Road
is a program that works with groups of volunteers to help keep the County's roadways free of litter. The County provides safety training, equipment and litter bags to community service and neighborhood groups registered with the County's program. The State and some cities have similar programs.
