King County Road Services - Sylvester Road Bridge Replacement Project

The City of Normandy Park received federal funding to replace the Sylvester Road Bridge on Sylvester Road S.W. with a new bridge in 2011. Construction on this project is underway and could last through winter. During this time, Sylvester Road S.W. is closed and traffic is being rerouted along a signed detour route that uses 14th Avenue S.W. and S.W. 160th Street (see map, 230KB .pdf).

  • Erection of girders
  • Pouring concrete for deck
  • Post tensioning of girders
  • Installation of water line
  • Filling of approaches
  • Construction of bridge rails
  • Pouring and finishing of sidewalk

  • Paving of approach road
  • Completion of guardrails

Still to be done:
