Budget impacts - for King County Road Services employees

Over the past four years Road Services has experienced a severe funding crisis. Despite many steps taken to address the problem, by the end of 2013 this will result in the loss of over one-third of our staff. We will be losing more good staff through 2014 and the need to downsize will likely continue into the future. This site provides Road Services employees with information about current budget-related issues, the division's future and resources if your position is cut.

Throughout this difficult process we continue to look at all options in order to reduce the number of employee layoffs. Employees will be kept apprised of the situation through regular communications, including meetings, emails and this website. In addition, many helpful resources for employees are included on this website. This is a trying and challenging time for everyone, particularly for those that will be losing their jobs. Your daily contributions, hard work, and continued professionalism are appreciated.
