June 11, 2012 Montlake Bridge won’t open for boats overnight June 16 and 23 while Metro repairs trolley wires
King County Metro Transit will be making repairs to the trolley system that crosses the Montlake Bridge on the weekends of June 16-17 and June 23-24. This will result in the bridge being unable to open for boat traffic between 10 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday on both weekends.
Metro will be doing a major overhaul of the trolley infrastructure on the bridge, which is located south of Husky Stadium. Vehicle traffic will be able to cross the bridge while this work is being done, but the drawbridge will not be able to open for boats to pass under the bridge during the overnight hours.
If you have questions or comments about the impact on boating traffic, please contact Randall Overton with the U.S. Coast Guard at (206) 220-7282 or by email.
