Huskies & Hawks kick off football season with bus shuttles to home games

The University of Washington and the Seattle Seahawks have contracted with King County Metro Transit to offer special bus shuttles for home football games this season. The first game-day buses will roll out Saturday, Sept. 11 for the Huskies and Sunday, Sept. 12 for the Seahawks.

For the UW home games at Husky Stadium

• Shuttles serve seven park-and-ride lots – Northgate, Kingsgate/Houghton, South Kirkland, Eastgate, South Renton, Shoreline, and Federal Way

• Fare – free

• Home games* – Sept. 11, Sept. 18, Oct. 9, Oct. 16, Oct. 30 & Nov. 18 (shuttles tentative)

For the Seahawks home games at Qwest Field

• Shuttles serve – Northgate Transit Center, South Kirkland Park-and-Ride, Eastgate-Park-and-Ride

• Fare – $5 one way or $10 round trip – vouchers for the round trip can be purchased from bus drivers on the pre-game trip

• Home games* – Sept. 12, Sept. 26, Oct. 24, Nov. 7, Nov. 28, Dec. 5, Dec. 19 & Jan. 2

The Huskies and Seahawks are covering the operating cost for these shuttles. In addition, Metro offers regular bus service to both stadiums. For information about transit service on game days, visit the online Trip Planner, or call Metro’s Customer Information Office at (206) 553-3000.

*There is currently a lawsuit in federal courts that could affect whether Metro can provide this service for the entire football season. The hearing on that challenge is expected to resume in late September. If Metro is unable to complete the season, the teams will make a decision about ongoing transportation services to the games.
