Watch for transit disruptions as 4th Avenue project begins in Seattle

Bus riders who travel through downtown Seattle and the SODO district should expect disruptions and delays starting the week of Sept. 28, as the city begins a major resurfacing project on Fourth Avenue north of Jackson Street.

During Phase 1 of the project, traffic will be reduced to two travel lanes around-the-clock on Fourth Avenue between Jackson and James streets for the next several months (September to January). That will result in temporary bus stop closures and transit delays.

The first three bus stops that will be closed are located at: eastbound Washington Street at 4th Avenue; northbound 4th Avenue at James; and northbound 4th Avenue at Washington. Watch for Rider Alerts at these stops.

King County Metro Transit is asking its customers to use alternate stops, and plan on delays if their routes travel on 4th Avenue.
