First phase of project to improve intersection
between Woodinville and Duvall is complete

Last Friday (Aug. 28), the King County Road Services Division finished the first phase of improvements at the intersection of Woodinville-Duvall Road and 212th Avenue Northeast. A new temporary traffic signal is in place that will allow the intersection to be used until Phase 2 of the project is completed next year.

The county closed 212th in June for the first phase of the project, which is designed to reduce collisions with vehicles turning off Woodinville-Duvall Road and extend sight lines for vehicles turning from 212th Avenue.

Phase 2 will add left and right turn lanes on Woodinville-Duvall Road, and install a permanent signal system. The second phase of the project will be completed next spring, after utility companies have moved poles and equipment to new locations. There are several different kinds of utility lines suspended from the overhead poles, and it will take at least three months for them all to be moved.

Next spring, the Road Division expects both roads to remain open while the second half of the project is constructed.

More information about the project can be found online.
