The King County Road Services Division's project to repair a section of the Kanasket-Kangley Road east of Ravensdale has been delayed, and will not start on June 16 as planned.
The road needs to be repaired just south of Kent-Kangley Road because of a failing culvert underneath the roadway, which is also causing the shoulder of the roadway to erode. The closure was originally slated to begin June 16, but engineers prepping for the job discovered more extensive damage and the work plan needs to be altered. The county hopes to begin the project before the end of June.
Once the project starts, the road will be closed for approximately two weeks. During the closure, motorists can detour via Kent-Kangley Road or Retreat-Kanasket Road.
