King County proposes reducing the speed limit on two sections of West Snoqualmie Valley Road Northeast
The King County Road Services Division will hold a public hearing on Thursday, April 5 at 9 a.m. in downtown Seattle to gather public comment on a proposal to lower the speed limit in two locations on West Snoqualmie Valley Road Northeast.
The division is considering lowering the speed limit from 45 miles per hour to 40 miles per hour on West Snoqualmie Valley Road Northeast in two sections:
- Between approximately 370 feet north of Northeast 80th Street and Northeast 100th Street; and
- Northeast Woodinville Duvall Road and the Snohomish County line.
The Road Services Division recently conducted a traffic study in response to citizen concerns about speeding and pedestrian safety. The analysis concluded the current speed limit should be lowered to improve traffic and pedestrian safety in the two areas noted above.
The hearing will be held in Room 2A of King Street Center, 201 South Jackson Street, Seattle, WA, 98104-3856. Written comments will also be accepted through March 30, and should be forwarded to Scott Sawhill, 201 South Jackson Street MS: KSC-TR-0222, Seattle, WA, 98104-3856. Comments can also be faxed to (206) 296-0176 or emailed. For more information, call the Traffic Engineering Section at (206) 263-6134.
