ROAD ALERT SPOTLIGHT

High winds causing road closures, power outages on Vashon Island

The King County Road Services Division is alerting residents and motorists on Vashon Island that high winds are causing hazardous travel conditions this morning. Three roads; Southwest Quartermaster Drive; Dockton Road Southwest and Cedarhurst Road Southwest, are all closed due to downed trees and powerlines. Until the lines and trees can be removed, motorists will need to use alternate routes or postpone their trips. Travel conditions should steadily improve later today as the winds subside.
