RapidRide event

Rapidly approaching RapidRide - King County Metro's vision of easing congestion on five priority transit corridors, shared by county voters who overwhelmingly passed it, will soon become a reality. 'Transit Now' is still in the works and will start with the A-Line on Pacific Highway South in 2010. Metro's budget shortfall has been eased a little as well with $14 million in aid coming from the Federal Transit Administration.

You can load and reload your card online and if you lose it, your full balance will be restored onto a new card.

Riders in the bus tunnel

Metro surpasses 3,000,000,000,000 riders! - It's a number so big, it's almost mind boggling. But, since starting operations January 1, 1973, King County Metro Transit has just surpassed the three billion mark. It's not a big surprise as the agency provides more than one million rides every three weekdays of service. Hear some Metro staff say thanks to the riders who helped them get to the huge milestone.
