Inside Transportation: March - April 2008
Inside Transportation is designed to help you understand how the King County Department of Transportation serves the public and how to take advantage of the transportation options available to you. It is a presentation of the King County Department of Transportation Public Affairs Unit.
Inside Transportation airs on KCTV at the following times:
- Sundays: 6:00 p.m.*
- Monday: 7:00 a.m.
- Tuesday: 5:00 p.m.
- Thursday: 7:30 p.m.
- Friday: 9:30 p.m.*
- Saturday: 5:30 p.m.

Green Festival 2008 - It was the greenest weekend thus far in 2008. The Green Festival made it's first-ever trip to Seattle, and King County DOT was a proud co-sponsor of the event helping county residents learn how to 'green up' their homes and commutes. Video Page

A King County employee's 'bright' idea: Greener light bulbs - They aren't literally, but figuratively green. The King County Road Services Division's headquarters in Renton recently retrofitted every light bulb in 10 of the buildings at the facility. Consequently, the projected energy use will be cut by more than half in 2008. Video Page

KCIA cargo: A mysterious medley - It could be a medical specimen for which a patient is waiting on the operating table. It could be wolves. It could be a Super Bowl commercial. These are all things Ameriflight has flown to or from King County International Airport. It's how the airport helps keep the northwest economy moving. Video Page

Truly Metro's finest - In this case, the old cliché rings true. King County Sheriff Sue Rahr recently honored two current and one former Metro deputy for their bravery and hard work, even bestowing the highest honor her office gives out to one of them. Video Page
