    Three times a year, King County Metro Transit updates its bus service to meet changing customer needs. The winter service change begins this Saturday, Feb. 18, and will affect about nine bus routes. Most changes are minor schedule or routing adjustments, but there is a significant increase in service for Route 240 on the Eastside.

    A federal transportation bill ending long-standing dedicated funding for the nation’s transit agencies would deliver yet another financial blow to transit service throughout the region, according to Puget Sound transit leaders. If the bill is approved by Congress, it will strip all guaranteed transit funding from the Federal Highway Trust Fund for the first time in three decades, adding more volatility and uncertainty to an already financially stretched transit industry.

  • Metro Transit asks you to ‘test drive’ new version of Metro Online home page

    Metro Transit is testing a new home page design for its website, and is looking for feedback from the bus-riding community. Metro is hoping to make it easier for customers to connect with the most-requested information. Not only is Metro working to make the information easier to find, but it is also setting up the website to display better on mobile devices and be more accessible for the visually impaired.

  • Thousands of riders weigh in to help restructure future bus service to keep Metro whole

    Nearly 5,000 transit customers have connected with King County Metro Transit face-to-face and online in recent months to help restructure bus service to be more productive while meeting the needs of more people. That public input has prompted a new round of proposals for September bus service aimed at reducing overcrowding, increasing ridership and providing service where it’s needed the most.
