RapidRide planning

Public involvement

Metro worked with communities to plan the RapidRide A Line (Pacific Highway S / International Blvd.), B Line (Bellevue-Redmond), C Line (West Seattle), and D Line (Ballard-Uptown) corridors. We provided information and gathered feedback through mailings, open houses, information tables, and online questionnaires. Stakeholder advisory panels and cities in these corridors reviewed the feedback we received and gave us input on station spacing and locations as well as routing for these RapidRide lines.

In 2009, the Metropolitan King County Council approved the routing of the first four RapidRide lines.

Public processes for the E and F lines are taking place now.

Design

Metro chose the RapidRide colors and design concepts to reflect the three defining RapidRide concepts: frequent service, easy to use, and the best that Metro has to offer. The RapidRide is also recognizable as part of the well-known Metro family.
