In September 2009, King County Metro launched Mount Baker In Motion. The In Motion program encouraged neighbors to incorporate alternatives such as walking, biking, carpooling, riding bus and light rail into their daily travel.
King County Metro, Refugee Women's Alliance (ReWA), the Somali Community Center, Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS) and the Chinese Information Service Center (CISC) and a team of local businesses thank all of you who participated in the Mount Baker In Motion, whether by pledging to make travel changes or just seeking information about more healthy travel options. All your efforts really added up to make a difference-- just look at the numbers in the right hand column!
Although the official project to encourage healthier travel options like busing, carpooling, bicycling, and walking in Southeast Seattle has ended, we hope your new travel habits will continue!
Here are some quotes from our awesome Mount Baker participants:
"Great program!! Thanks for doing it!"
"1) I appreciated the tone of the web-based initiative. It was friendly, and not preachy. 2) I was skeptical (sp) that this would actually change my habits, but, in truth, I am sure that it has. Will I relapse? We’ll see..."
