Plans for the West Seattle/Downtown Seattle route
Year-round water taxi service between West Seattle and downtown is slated to begin in 2010, and will operate from Seacrest until a permanent site is selected. Plans for the 2010 season include a new vessel and improvements at Seacrest including a wider, longer gangway to meet accessibility guidelines, new concrete floats and a change in docking orientation. Also planned in 2010, the West Seattle Water Taxi will join the Vashon Island/downtown Seattle Water Taxi route and dock at Pier 50.
