Get Plug-In Ready—Now!A regional workshop on electric vehiclesOn September 20, 2010, Puget Sound New Energy Solutions and other organizations hosted a regional, one-day workshop called “Get Plug-in Ready—Now!” More than 200 participants from around the Puget Sound region spent the day learning about ongoing efforts to prepare for the arrival of electric vehicles in late fall 2010. Co-sponsors were Puget Sound Energy, the King County Executive’s Office, Washington State Department of Transportation and Department of Commerce, Washington Technology, private utility companies, local charging station vendors, and the C7 New Energy Partnership (cities of Bellevue, Kirkland, Issaquah, Mercer Island, Redmond, Renton, and Sammamish). Representatives from major car manufacturers and other organizations involved in the deployment of electric vehicles also participated in the event. King County Executive Dow Constantine welcomed workshop participants and unveiled a regional map of more than 125 charging stations that will be available to the public in 2011.
