Auctions

The King County Fleet Administration Division handles the disposal of all county surplus property except real estate. To make the most of taxpayer dollars, many of the county's surplus items are sold at public auctions. These auctions also include items from other government agencies. They are open to the general public as well as all government employees.

Spot bid

King County holds spot bid auctions of surplus property on the second Wednesday of the month. For more information, see our spot bid auction page.

Vehicles and equipment

King County holds two auto and heavy equipment auctions each year, on Saturdays--one in spring and one in fall.

Sealed bid announcements

King County also conducts Sealed bid auctions on speciality items, these sales might have buyer requirements, remote locations, limitations or conditions of the item(s) up for aucton.  Those restrictions are posted in the auction description.

In accordance with King County Code 4.56, sealed bids will be accepted for the following County

surplus personal property:

The managed thinning/harvest of approximately 59 acres of timber. Timber volumes are estimated at

a total of 282 MBF logs and 537 tons pulpwood. The property is both FSC (Certification Code: SAFM/

COC-13941CF) and American Tree Farm System (Tree Farm No. WA-4361) certified.

Purchasers need not be certified to purchase this timber. TITLE: Island Center Forest, Fir Thin/Alder Harvest

BID DELIVERY LOCATION: Sealed bid proposals are hereby solicited and will be received by

mail, e-mail, fax, or delivery in person. Mailing address is Russ Johnson, King County Department

of Transportation, 201 South Jackson St., Suite 822, Seattle, Washington, 98104. The e-mail address

is russ.johnson@kingcounty.gov. The fax number is (206) 296-0571. Bid deposits must be received

by 10:30am May 9th, 2012. All bids received will be opened in public and all bidders and other

interested persons are invited to be present.

SALE LOCATION: This thinning and harvest of timber is from Island Center Forest located on

Vashon Island in unincorporated King County, WA, Section 36 of Township 23 North, Range 02
